Fly Blue Crane is now offering a premium service to Bloemfontein, Kimberley and Nelspruit from their hub in Johannesburg.
The airline is headed by three ex-SAA Executives, Siza Mzimela (Fly Blue Crane CEO), Theunis Potgieter (Fly Blue Crane COO) and Jerome Simelane (Fly Blue Crane's GM Commercial).
Simelane said in a statement they aim to use their experience in the industry to ensure success for the new airline. “By using what we have learned over the years about international airline best practice, we have also created a cost structure which allows us to offer competitive fares without cutting any corners on quality, safety and reliability,” he explained.
The airline will be using IATA code “7B” and as per the Fly Blue Crane website at the time of publishing, a single one-way ticket between Johannesburg and Bloemfontein will cost R785.32. A single one-way ticket to Nelspruit from Johannesburg will cost R796.72 and a ticket to Kimberley costs R849.16. These costs are inclusive of airport tax.
During its initial launch phase, Fly Blue Crane will serve from its OR Tambo hub:
- Bloemfontein – five times a day during the week, twice on Saturdays, and three times on Sundays
- Kimberley – three times a day during the week, once on Saturdays, and twice on Sundays
- Nelspruit – twice daily Mondays to Fridays, once on Saturdays, and once on Sundays
The airline will also enable agents to complete tasks such as filing private fares and managing refund processes and commission reports.
